Cobb Co. ARES/Skywarn Net Preamble Routine Weekly Net (Non-Emergency Training Net)
Wednesdays at 9:00pm on 146.880 (-100.0) Repeater-Marietta, GA

CQ, CQ, CQ, Calling the Cobb County Amateur Radio Emergency Service Net. The Cobb ARES net is now in routine formal session. This is (name) (call sign); I’ll be the net control station this evening. This net meets every Wednesday evening at 2100 hundred hours local time for the purpose sharing information, passing traffic, planning, practicing and discussing the activities of the Cobb County ARES Group. It is also a preparedness and training drill for emergency net and communications procedures. This is a directed net. Please do not transmit unless directed to do so by net control. Our main repeater frequency is this repeater, 146.880 (-PL 100.0). Alternate repeaters are 442.875 (+ PL 100.0) and 444.325 (+ PL 79.7).
I’ll break now for emergency traffic, emergency traffic only, please call Net Control, (call sign).
If you need to pass emergency traffic at anytime during this net, please do not hesitate to notify net control. This net is open to anyone interested in Cobb County ARES\Skywarn and supporting amateur radio emergency communications in Cobb County. Please do not pass any 3rd Party Traffic. While we welcome your announcements, 3rd Party Traffic is not appropriate for this net. If you would like to become a member of Cobb County ARES please let net control know when checking in. The format for check-in will be your call sign, your call sign phonetically, your name, your location with the nearest cross street or if mobile your approximate location. I WILL BE ENTERING YOUR CHECK INFORMATION INTO THE ARES LOG, SO GIVE ME YOUR INFORMATION AS CLEARLY AS POSSIBLE AT WRITING SPEED. Also please let net control know if you have traffic, announcements, inquiries, or swap shop items for the net or if you need to make contact with another station on frequency. Remember that I’m recording the information you are giving me into the ARES Net log, so give your information as clearly as possible.

This concludes this evening’s activities. This evening we had a total of __________ stations checking-in. I’d like thank the Kennehoochee Amateur Radio Club for the use of the 146.88 repeater and K4RFL for the use of the 442.875 repeater this evening. The next scheduled net will be next Wednesday at 2100 hours local time. This is (call sign) thru the W4BTI repeater closing the net at (hours) local time and returning the repeater to normal use.
